I find the part on schizophrenia very interesting, I've studied with and/or knew about 6 schizo's as a JW and my Brother in-law is a schizo, and I noticed that they all seem to woffle on about useless information that I wasn't interested in, it wasn't me its just that it was trully useless and irrelevent to anything that we were discussing, and they all seem to just keep going on and on. I thought it was just me who was impatient but after a while I noticed a pattern and this info just confirms it more.

Can disfellowshipping a person be harmful to their spirituality?
by JH inthe jw org wants us to be almost perfect.
the slightest fault that we do, we are treated as if we are entirely bad, then we get df'd.. it's an "all or nothing" way of thinking that can be spiritually dangerous.. example: if a jw is caught smoking, and becomes df'd because of this, that person may feel free to do even worse sins, because they can't be more df'd than they are right now.
so disfellowshipping a person for something as small as smoking or playing lotto, can be counter productive for the sinner.. it's like puting a person in jail for a petty crime.

Can it be harmful to their "Spirituality", I would say YES, because they can balme it on God. Alos you must understand that the Watchtower isn't interested in perfection, they are only interested in the 'appearance of perfection'. Once you understand this, then you can see why they hide child abusers and not turn them over to the law.

The thing is that when someone is DFed we are expected to think the worst, that he/she is a gross and unrepentant sinner, we can hear an annocement about someone who has being a good freind to us for many years that they have being DFed and we are not allowed to ask why? if we do ask why was he DFed we may get the some punishment, its not christanity. We get more justice from 'satans' world, if someone gets 20 years jail we can ask why? and we can even checkout all the evidence and the courts have a public seatings too so there is no doudt as to why the judgement was received, we don't get that openness from "Gods" org.

At least on 2 circuit assemlbies, I remember the speaker was giving an Illustration to keep us from thinking too much of ourselves because some feel that the Org can't do without them, he said "Put your hand into a bucket of water and then life your hand out, the space thats left is how much you'll be missed" I thought it was an effective way of showing that the org will carry on without us and so we should never think too much of ourselves, afterall that was the reason for it, to keep us humble, but I also asked myself that if something happenend to me, my wife or my children won't be using that illustration to show themselves how little they'll miss me, so when my wife isn't well or my children are tired I just remember that illustration and stay home with them. I have being repeating that illustration when I can see some go too far not to miss meetings, they go to meetings even if their wives or children are ill or in need of their presense. regards

You can call me a Fader ... but I am still a JW, but I'll fade one day, my wife is a JW and all my family and frinds so i am not ready to change my lifestyle also my 2 teenage girls are still going to meetings too, so I need to keep an eye on them, make sure they don't get batized and also that they grow up right, its not an easy line I'm walking but so far I've done it for 4 years. Its almost fun at times when your in the hall and you know the truth about the truth. And you also know why so many of them are so depressed and still they blame this system of things.

please help with translation
by boydarwin ini have tried everywhere, searched the net, translation forums, googled.....you name it.. i am hoping that someone here might be able to help me or at least point me in the right direction.. i am looking for a translation of john 8:7. i am looking for the phrase "let the one among you without sin cast the first stone".
here is the catch, i want it in either aramaic or hebrew.
i love that verse, and it means a lot to me.

I typed in goggle search "New testament Hebrew" and I got a Hebrew translation of the New Testament, it took me 20 secs. I don't know what trouble you've being having finding one, of course I can't read Hebrew but if you can read Hebrew then you should have much trouble finding that verse on that site. go to http://www.iclnet.org/pub/resources/text/ipb-e/nthebrew/hebrewnt.html That Particular Verse isn't included in the NWT, its because there is evidence that, that verse wasn't in the original writings but added later, it makes sense too, because although it sounds like a nice and holy thing to say, it wouldn't be what jesus said, because it was part of the Mosaic law that sinners were stoned, and the stoning was done by other people who were also sinners, so by Jesus saying that, he was saying that the mosaic law was wrong, and I'm sure he wouldn't feel that way becuase the mosaic law was written by his perfect father, God Jehovah. so the woman who was found to be committing adultery should've being stoned by order of the mosaic law Whoever added that verse was simply trying to tell us "we shouldn't judge others."

Elder keeping real reason priveledges taken away from own daughter.
by wordlywife inmy step daughter had her pioneer priveledges taken away from her.
the elders involved did not tell my husband what the real reason was for it.
she had done something months prior and that is what elder discussed with him, but that wasn't the real reason, something else happened to make them remove her priveldges, which i won't go into here.

Anything that the BOE discuss's behind their locked doors is private and no one is entitled to know about it. IF one elder decides to tell someone something thats up to that elder, but the R&F are entitled to know and should never ask, regardless of Age. Of course I thinks its all BS, and no way will I let that happen to my yuong girls, I know from personnal experince and from speaking to other elders that they like hearing "juicy" stories, and then they have a good laugh.
